Best parks in Ruston

Escape the city’s hustle and bustle and visit one of Ruston’s many wooded areas. Check out these parks below for their variety of amenities and activities.

Lincoln Parish Park

This is one of the city’s most popular parks, located on Parish Park Road. It offers ten miles of hiking/mountain biking trails, campsites, and a lake for swimming. You can also walk the 1.2-mile paved trail that goes around the lake. Entrance to the park is $3 per person. This park is pet-friendly.

Garland Gregory Hideaway Park

Located on Ruston’s Louisiana Tech campus, this park features a range of amenities: picnic pavilions with grills, several walking paths, 18-hole frisbee golf course, and a pond for fishing and canoeing.

Huckleberry Trails Park

This is a great park for kids and dogs. The 23-acre park features wooded hiking trails, a playground, and a unique learning center. The park sits right next to Cypress Springs Elementary School.

Railroad Park

This is downtown Ruston’s park and the “it” place for the biggest town gatherings! The park plays host to several events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, lectures, pet showcases, and much more. Great place to relax and people-watch. It’s close to several downtown shops and restaurants.

Elmore D. Mayfield Park

The largest park in the city of Ruston, Elmore D. Mayfield park is 66 acres of rolling landscapes and forested areas. The park features a spring-fed lake, as well as a playground sports fields/courts, and picnic pavilions.
